Former Cincinnati Bengals kicker Shayne Graham signs one-year deal with Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Sun is reporting the Baltimore Ravens have signed former Cincinnati Bengals kicker Shayne Graham to a one-year deal Thursday that could earn him up to $2.5 million for the 2010 season. The team has shown interest in signing the kicker for months and he will compete with Billy Cundiff for the starting job after spending the last seven seasons wearing black and orange stripes.

Prior to the 2009 season, Graham was arguably the best kicker in franchise history as he set numerous team records—including highest field goal percentage in a season (91.2) and field goals in a season (31). However, he is coming off his worst season with the Bengals. Not only did he make just 23 of 28 field goals during the regular season, but Graham missed two crucial field goals from 35 and 28 yards in the 24-14 playoff loss to the New York Jets .

Considering the competition between Mike Nugent and Dave Rayner, it seemed highly unlikely Graham would return for his eighth season with Cincinnati. He will enter his 10th season in the NFL with the Ravens and holds a career kicking percentage of 85.2.
