Tate For
Cincinnati Bengals?
Golden Tate a Good Fit For Cincinnati Bengals at No.21?
Written March 22, 2010 by Jason Lowry
There was no question that the Cincinnati Bengals needed to add more talent at the wide receiver position this
offseason. It appeared that the Bengals did just that with their recent signing of Antonio Bryant, but according to
ESPN that might not be the end of it, as Mike Kurtz of the Football Outsiders believes that Notre Dame wide
receiver Golden Tate would be a great fit for the Bengals at pick No.21 in the upcoming NFL draft.
Kurtz’s believes that Tate would be a solid No.3 receiver for quarterback Carson Palmer, and there is also the
possibility that Tate could help out in the return game as well. I like the idea of the Bengals adding more weapons
in the passing game, but I wouldn’t count on Tate coming in and making a huge impact right away.
I believe that in time Tate will develop into a solid No.2 receiver, but I can see that taking some time, even
with a quarterback as good as Palmer throwing him the rock. So while the addition of Tate would definitely benefit
the Bengals NFL odds in the long run, I don’t know how much of an impact it would have on the 2010 season.
