Continuing a feature here at Bengals Chatter, every Saturday we'll run our copy of Madden 08 and break down what happened on the virtual grid iron. This week the Bengals are of course playing the 49ers. Conditions call for storms and mild weather and this matchup virtually had the same conditions. Here's how it went down.

Continue...

1st Half

After a big kickoff return to midfield, the 49ers went downfield and missed a FG after a false start backed them up. The Bengals however did score, 2 big 3rd down passes to Kelly made it 7-0 Bengals early on. The 49ers looked like they were going to tie it up but several blundered plays and a dropped TD pass, forced the 49ers to kick a FG, 7-3 Bengals after 1 quarter.

After a short drive, Carson Palmer was picked off. The 49ers however were stopped inside the 10 and made it 7-6. Chatman returned it to the 45 which lead to a TD pass to Chris Henry, 14-6 Bengals. The 49ers started to drive, however were stopped soon with a bad throw by the 3rd stringer, Jonathon Joseph returned it for a TD to make it 21-6. Another INT and one play later the Bengals made it 28-6 at Half Time.

2nd Half

Rudi Johnson lead the way in the 2nd half, stringing together good runs and looking like the old rudi. An incomplete 3rd down pass lead to a FG to make it 31-6 after 3 quarters of play.

In the 4th, the 49ers drove the ball down the field with a mix of Frank Gore runs andpasses to make it 31-13 Bengals, late in the 4th. The Bengals were caught offguard on the onside kick, the 49ers recovered, however did not score and the Bengals converted a risky Fake Punt run to keep the ball until the end.

Tune into 8:15 PM EST on the NFL Network to see how the Bengals do in real-life, hopefully the same result!. Go Bengals!
