Week 2 Titans @ Bengals - Recap - Bengals Chatter
Week 2 Titans @ Bengals - Recap

After a horrible start to the season, a game where the Bengals couldn't even get a hundred yards passing, it was worse in the 2nd game of the NFL Season againt the Titans. The stats and even basically drive-by-drive run down are done elsewhere, Cincy Jungle, I'll just be covering the general crappiness of the Bengals play.

What's most worrying for Bengals fans is the fact that play-wise, we've been crushed twice in a row and we have a tough 6 games ahead (at least 6, the next "ok" team we play is week 13 against the Ravens!). It's not like we had to start out against the Packers and Patriots. Worse the key problems in Game 1, for the most part, were present in this game.

The run game was "better", but a combined 88 yards on 28 carries versus the Titans 177 rushing yards, well it's still not good enough. Although Carson faced pressure, it seemed worse in the Ravens game and he wasn't sacked in this game, yet his rating was again horrible without a touchdown pass this season.

Looking at the stats one has to remember that after the first half, the bengals did practically nothing and a lot of the Titans numbers were in the 2nd half. Once again the Bengals cannot play 4 quarters and worse, 3rd downs last week - 2/13, this week - 3/13.

Next week the Bengals will be playing the Giants at New York. The Giants have outscored there opponents 57-20 after two games but in the words of Carson Palmer - "We need to try to find a way to stay positive". Yeah, good luck.
